Meals on Wheels Chicago’s Hunger Takes No Holiday Campaign Aims to Deliver Five Tons of Food to Seniors

One in 6 seniors in our community are facing hunger this holiday season. Please take action on behalf of your neighbors by giving to the Hunger Takes No Holiday campaign. Your contribution will help seniors who feel forgotten and alone, making a direct impact on their daily lives.

Meals on Wheels Chicago is running the Hunger Takes No Holiday campaign through the end of year to raise additional funds to support seniors experiencing hunger.

"Thank you for thinking of seniors. Don't quit. You will be old one day and grateful for younger people helping you out." Molette, Nourish Chicago Pantry Guest

This program is facing a funding crisis and needs your support to continue. Nourish Chicago Pantry offers high-quality items for seniors, just like what you can buy at the grocery store, for free. This ensures every senior walks away with the freshest food that will last weeks or even months in their pantries.

Over 5 tons of fresh food is distributed at each pantry event! That adds up to at least 30 healthy meals for every senior who walks through the door. Your gift, no matter the amount, goes into action the very next day.

About Meals on Wheels Chicago

Meals on Wheels Chicago envisions a community in which all basic needs are met and barriers to achieving independence are eliminated.

Our goal is to support programs that offer individuals a choice in their care and living arrangement, despite age, income, or ability level. We aim to relieve some of the financial hardship caused by social and economic injustices that exist in our society. Meals on Wheels Chicago has raised both private funds and awareness to accomplish our mission to ensure that both homebound seniors and individuals with disabilities benefit from programs that improve quality of life and maximize independence. Each year the home meal delivery program serves over 4.7 million meals to seniors and individuals with disabilities living in Chicago.
