For over twenty five years, Meals on Wheels Chicago has partnered with the City of Chicago's Department of Family and Support Services- Senior Services Area Agency on Aging and the Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities, to provide homebound seniors and individuals with disabilities an opportunity for self-sufficiency. MOWC is committed to raising private funds through special events, corporate partnerships and individual contributions that would support the well established Holiday Meals Program for seniors and the Home-Delivered Meals for Individuals with Disabilities Program, as well as the Home Modification Program for individuals with disabilities. Meals on Wheels Chicago is focused on fundraising private revenue for these specific programs in an effort to successfully fill the gaps in limited government funding received by our two city partners.
Through the efforts of both city departments, individuals in need of these relief services are able to speak directly with each department to get information concerning qualifications, enrollment, and services provided. Our office is happy to assist interested individuals find the program which best fits their specific need, but Meals on Wheels Chicago does not establish eligibility or enroll clients into either program. As a private fundraising organization, we do not oversee the execution of this program, but we are happy to help individuals make a connection with our city partners who do. Additionally, Meals on Wheels Chicago is committed to the long-term sustainability of these two critical programs and are therefore raising private dollars to ensure Chicago's most vulnerable citizens will always have access to Home Delivered Meals or Home Modification.
