About Us
Meals on Wheels Chicago is committed to the belief that all individuals have the right to live independently with dignity in their own homes. Through monetary grants to our two City of Chicago agencies, it is our hope to reduce the number of homebound seniors and individuals with disabilities in need. While the programs we help to support are vastly different, they share the same common goal: to give individuals the ability to remain in their own home.
The meal delivery program provides isolated and homebound seniors the opportunity to secure a more stable home environment, thus improving their quality of life. By reducing food insecurity and providing daily human contact, the Meals on Wheels program offers this vulnerable population the tools necessary to maintain self-sufficient and dignified lives in the comfort and familiarity of their own residence
Mission
Meals on Wheels Chicago envisions a community in which all basic needs are met and barriers to achieving independence are eliminated. Our mission is to therefore ensure that both homebound seniors and individuals with disabilities benefit from programs that improve quality of life and maximize independence. We achieve this by raising both awareness and private funds to support a meal delivery and home modification program.
