Home Delivered Meals
Home Delivered Meal recipients receive two complete meals; lunch and dinner. Together these two meals meet two-thirds of the recommended daily allowance of nutrients. All meals are carefully monitored for food safety and nutrition standards. Meals on Wheels Chicago works with Open Kitchens, a state-of-the-art food production facility that has the resources and flexibility to produce a cost-efficient, three-tiered food plan of hot, chilled and frozen meals. Diabetic, low sodium and other special meal plans are available for clients with special nutritional needs. In addition to serving seniors' nutritional needs, the Open Kitchens drivers and Meals on Wheels Chicago volunteers provide a warm smile and attention everyone needs.
