2013 Mother's Day Campaign
This Mother's Day, honor your mother, nurture our community.
Over 66% of the meal recipients served by Meals on Wheels Chicago are women. Many of these special women will spend Mother's Day alone. We invite you to show them you care, and honor your own mother, by supporting our Home Delivered Meal program.
Meals on Wheels Chicago raises private funds to support a meal program that improves the quality of life and maximizes independence for thousands of our city's homebound seniors. By providing 2 meals a day to over 7,000 individuals a week, this program is aiding those who no longer have spouses, siblings, children, or friends to help them obtain meals. In 2012, MOWC provided 73,000 meals for six major holiday deliveries. Because the holidays can be a difficult and lonely time for the homebound, MOWC believes it is important to provide these deliveries so that our seniors receive nutrition and the comfort of knowing their meals will be there for them.
You can play a vital role in feeding our city's homebound seniors.
Donate to make a difference.
Meals on Wheels Chicago envisions a community in which all basic needs are met and barriers to achieving independence are eliminated. By reducing food insecurity and providing daily human contact through our delivery drivers, we can ensure seniors remain in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes. Together, we can achieve this vision by raising awareness and private funds to support the Home Delivered Meals program.
A gift of $50 will provide a homebound senior with two meals a day for a week
and also offers them the invaluable gift of independence.
Donate to help us reach our goal.
Please support Meals on Wheels Chicago by making a gift in honor of or in memory of a loved one. Every gift is important and no gift is too small. This Mother's Day, let all our mothers know how much you care.
