Amy Dordek Dolinsky – 30 Faces of Meals on Wheels Chicago Series
Amy Dordek Dolinsky is the Co-Founder and Chief Revenue Officer for Growth Play – A firm that is rooted in the revolutionary idea that authentic relationships are the foundation for sustained results. As past chair of the Board of Directors of Meals on Wheels Chicago’, Amy built important relationships that continue today and was instrumental in the growth of the Celebrity Chef Ball.
“In addition to being the foodie event of the year, the Celebrity Chef Ball represents the best of Meals on Wheels Chicago. Chefs and guests coming together to ensure that our homebound neighbors receive the meals they need to live.”
“I was who introduced to Meals on Wheels Chicago by my husband, Steve Dolinsky of ABC7’s Hungry Hound, who served as master of ceremonies for the Celebrity Chef Ball for many years. It was a family affair, we used to take our daughter when she was a toddler – that little girl is now a 21 year-old-woman.
“It was Bob Don, of the Edward Don & Company, who drafted me to join the board. As a professional who helps organizations and their teams become more efficient, I was impressed by the effectiveness of Meals on Wheels Chicago. As a public/private partnership, Meals on Wheels Chicago is able to provide nutritious meals to thousands of homebound Chicagoans. As a board member, my role was simple—to increase awareness of the struggles seniors and people with disabilities face with hunger, and to raise funds to eliminate this plight in our city.”
“I’ll never forget one meal delivery I accompanied for an elderly man with vision loss. It was so sweet to see the relationship between the Meals on Wheels Chicago driver and this man. You could tell how much the meals meant to him and how important the weekly check-in was. Often times the driver is the only person our meal recipients see each week. It brought home how important Meals on Wheels Chicago is to thousands of our homebound neighbors.”
“I am proud of what Meals on Wheels Chicago has been doing for the past 30 years – providing millions of meals to thousands of homebound seniors and people with disabilities – and know that they continue to provide an important resource to our neighbors. It is that simple and that important. I invite everyone to support Meals on Wheels Chicago as they celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Celebrity Chef Ball.”
