Chicagoland’s craft brewmasters and local chefs to raise funds to provide 30,000 meals
Meals on Wheels Chicago and their Associate Board are pleased to announce their 4th annual fundraiser – Chicago on Tap. The event will be held Thursday, April 11, 2019 from 6-10pm at our new venue – the historic Theater on the Lake in Lincoln Park, at 401 N Lake Shore Dr., Chicago.
Chicago on Tap is a Chicagoland craft beer and food festival with live music all under the same roof. Proceeds will benefit home-delivered meals for Chicago’s needy senior citizens and people with disabilities, with a goal of raising awareness and funds to provide more than 30,000 meals for our homebound neighbors.
“After college, I had to move into an apartment by myself to be closer to my job…. I realized for the first time what it really meant to be alone; to have nobody calling on you. This is the type of isolation the seniors in our community face every day, even when they’re surrounded by thousands of people…. so that’s why Meals on Wheels Chicago is so important to me. It brings this problem to the top of our minds, and enables us to do something about it.” – Matt Letke, (Co-President, MOWC Associate Board).
Chicago on Tap is a beer enthusiasts event meant to encourage guests to explore our local brews that are making Chicago one of the world’s best beer cities. Chicago on Tap features samplings from a long list of Chicagoland’s breweries. Attendees will be able try beers from Half Acre Beer Company, Moody Tongue, Begyle, Hopewell, Revolution Brewing, and 20 other breweries.
New this year, guests will enjoy a beer-inspired tasting menu from more than 10 award-winning Chicago chefs, including Beat Bobby Flay Winner Chef Cory Morris and recently crowned “Chicago’s Prince of Pork” Cochon555 winner Chef Danny Espinoza. Back by popular demand is music from The Leadfoot Band. Summed up perfectly by musician Jaik Willis: The Leadfoot Band is “Chicago’s freshest post-bluegrass served up spicy- just how you like it- with tasty grooves and lightning-fast delivery.”
The all-inclusive tickets are $75 and available at mealsonwheelschicago.org/chicagoontap, along with the complete list of Chicago on Tap participants.
