Peapod: The Power of Partnership

A longtime champion of hunger relief, Peapod founder Andrew Parkinson joined the Meals on Wheels Chicago golf committee in 2002 to raise awareness and funds for senior meals via our annual golf outing. We are grateful for Peapod’s 16-year sponsorship of our golf outing, but we cannot begin to thank them for going above and beyond.  Peapod employees have been instrumental in its success – being a key member of the golf planning committee, growing the event by encouraging vendor foursomes and sponsorships, inspiring staff to volunteer the day of the event, supplying food and beverages, and donating raffle prizes.

According to longtime Peapod golf committee member, Larraine Corpuz, “I joined the MOWC golf committee in 2004 and it has been an incredibly rewarding experience for me personally and professionally. In addition to knowing that we are providing meals for Chicago’s senior citizens, it’s great that Peapod’s vendors can participate with our employees to share Peapod’s commitment to the community, while enjoying a beautiful day of golf.”
