Welcome New Team Members!

April 29, 2021: Meals on Wheels Chicago is pleased to announce the addition of two new staff members! Meggie Keiser, Individual Giving Manager, and Emma Etchason, Database & Office Coordinator, both joined the team at the beginning of April. We are thrilled by the amazing talent and enthusiasm they bring to the organization!

After graduating with a degree in English from the University of Cincinnati, Meggie wanted to follow her passion for philanthropy by pursuing a career in nonprofits. Initially, she worked with a variety of arts organizations including a puppet theater company, contemporary dance group, and an innovative music ensemble. Meggie managed marketing, communications, and fundraising simultaneously for all three organizations. Following this, she managed major supporters at a scientific institution where she also helped lead and implement strategies around donor and event management. Meggie is thrilled to bring her experience, expertise, and excitement to Meals on Wheels Chicago.

While studying ecology at Butler University, Emma discovered her love for urban gardening, native species, and food systems. But, her experience introduced a more important conversation about food access and justice. Wanting to make a difference through policy and social service, she continued her education at Indiana University, earning her Master in Public Affairs and Environmental Science. Following school, she worked at a variety of nonprofits including a science museum and an afterschool education program. There, she assisted in grant writing, event management, and fundraising. Working in growing organizations gave her the opportunity to create systems and processes organization-wide, which increased efficiency, communication, and donor and volunteer retention. Emma is eager to use her skills and passion to fulfill the mission of Meals On Wheels Chicago.
