Board of Directors Welcomes Vinessa DePinto

September 21, 2021: Meals on Wheels Chicago is pleased to welcome Vinessa DePinto to the Board of Directors. Vinessa, Director of Brand Design Strategy at Tyson Foods, has joined the leadership team committed to serving seniors and individuals with disabilities throughout Chicago that are struggling with food insecurity.

“I am thrilled to welcome Vinessa to our leadership team because she understands the profound importance food plays in uniting and opening our hearts to each other,” said Elise Geiger, Executive Director of Meals on Wheels Chicago. “Vinessa joins a leadership team dedicated to the long-term success of our program. Their efforts help keep thousands of our homebound neighbors nourished and safe in their own homes. We are grateful to this team of dedicated volunteers for their continued commitment to our organization and programs.”

Meals on Wheels Chicago envisions a community in which all basic needs are met and barriers to achieving independence are eliminated. Our goal is to support programs that offer individuals a choice in their care and living arrangement, despite age, income, or ability. Meals on Wheels Chicago has raised both private funds and awareness to accomplish our mission to ensure that both homebound seniors and individuals with disabilities benefit from programs that improve quality of life and maximize independence.

The Meals on Wheels Chicago Board of Directors is comprised of volunteers from a diverse set of fields including finance, law, medical, culinary arts, food and beverage, and public service. It is the Board’s responsibility to provide guidance in the operation of the organization and to raise awareness and funds for the Meals on Wheels Chicago program.
