Let’s March for Meals!

This week people all over the city are going to lace up their shoes for the annual #MarchForMeals 5K! This virtual event raises much-needed funds for the home meal delivery program in Chicago, which served over 15,000 seniors and individuals with disabilities last year. Without this kind of community support, our clients would struggle to afford and prepare their own food. By supporting this event you are giving the gift of food security and peace of mind to our vulnerable homebound neighbors.

Here’s how you can support the March for Meals 5K!

  • Sign up! It’s not too late to Run, Walk, or Roll for Meals on Wheels Chicago. Just as the weather is getting warmer, the 5K is a great reason to meet up with friends and family for some much-needed outdoor time! It’s just $25 to sign up, and 100% of registration fees will help pay for meals for our homebound neighbors. Bonus! If you sign up you’ll also get a Race Bag full of fun goodies to help with your race!

  • Support MFM5K Participants! If a 5K isn’t your thing, check out the fundraising pages of our participants who are going the extra mile by raising money for our program. Visit the race website to support a specific participant’s fundraising goal.

  • Spread the word on social media! Help us raise awareness for the virtual 5K by sharing our posts on social media. The more people who hear about the March For Meals 5K the more successful it will be!

  • Make a donation. Help us reach our fundraising goal for this event! We are already 33% of the way to our goal, and every gift – no matter the size – will help fight hunger in our community. Achieving our goal will mean we can deliver 12,500 meals in the coming months. That’s a lot of meals for our homebound neighbors!
