5 Ways to Celebrate Mother’s Day

Take advantage of the spring weather! Take your loved ones on a walk around the neighborhood, or enjoy a cup of tea together on your patio. Let the sun shine down on quality time together! The great outdoors improves your mood and your immune system gets a boost thanks to the Vitamin D produced when our skin is exposed to the sun.

Create a garden together! Planting flowers is a great activity that also adds beauty to your loved one’s home. Don’t have outdoor space? Try your hand at an indoor garden! Pots are an easy way to bring the outside in.

Ask your loved one to watch their favorite movie! Go back to an old favorite and ask about the first time your mother or grandmother saw that movie. Or try something new together! Either way you’ll have lots to talk about, and don’t forget the popcorn and candy!

Grab a deck of cards or your favorite board game and get some snacks ready for a few hours of fun! Did you know playing cards can improve short and long-term memory? Ask a senior in your life to teach you their favorite game, or teach them yours! Start with something simple like Go Fish and work up to a more complicated game like Hearts. Learning together is always a fun time.
