Mindy Gohr is the pastry chef and owner of Bittersweet Pastry Shop—Chicago’s premier European-style bakery. Mindy joined Bittersweet as an extern in 2005, and spent a decade learning under the tutelage of James Beard-nominated chef Judy Contino. In 2006 she became the shop’s lead cake decorator, and was promoted to pastry chef in 2011. Mindy purchased Bittersweet from Contino in the fall of 2015. 

Over the years, Mindy has made cakes for such notable clients as Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, former Chicago mayor Richard M. Daley, players and owners of the Chicago Cubs and Blackhawks, and for local and national magazines such as Chicago Social Brides and The Knot. ABC 7’s Hungry Hound Steve Dolinsky named her cinnamon roll as Chicago’s best.

Mindy is a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu Chicago where she mastered classic techniques and recipes and earned a degree in Baking and Patisserie.
