Margaret McSweeney is founder, host and executive producer of KITCHEN CHAT a multimedia and digital platform that includes syndicated radio, itunes, iheart radio, Sound Cloud and Web Talk Radio. KITCHEN CHAT recently won two Taste Awards and will be inducted into the Taste Awards Hall of Fame in 2020. Margaret has interviewed over 250 of the world’s top chefs, culinary leaders and cookbook authors. Margaret’s journey with KITCHEN CHAT began as a way to honor her late father who was a gourmet home chef.  Margaret always says that the kitchen is the heart of the world and food is the universal language. Her life’s motto is “Savor the Day!”

In 2016, Margaret was awarded Member of the Year for International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP). This in recognition of her success in moderating and expanding the organization’s professional webinar Speakers’ Series.  In addition, Margaret is a member of the prestigious international Les Dames d’Escoffier organization and is also a member of Women Chefs & Restaurateurs. KITCHEN CHAT was on the Red Carpet for the James Beard Awards. Margaret is Chicago’s Ambassador for Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Organization. 

As a brand consultant for Middleby Residential, Margaret has co-hosted Kitchen Chats in the Viking /La Cornue Showroom with Chef Jaime Laurita featuring Ina Pinkney, Ina Garten, former Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Top Chef/Iron Chef Stephanie Izard and many other celebrity chefs.  In addition, she has helped organize numerous events in the Chicago showroom bringing in social media influencers, socialites, business leaders and culinary professionals. She has moderated high profile panels in the showroom, including Maria Pinto, Chef Carrie Nahabedian and Holly Hunt. 

Margaret has a financial background as a former Vice President of Chase Manhattan Bank in New York City.  She has worked in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, loan syndications and international trade finance.  Margaret earned a master’s degree in international business, speaks Portuguese and French. Margaret serves on the Leadership Advisory Board for Wings, a non-profit that helps women and children who are fleeing from domestic violence.  She and her husband live in the Chicago suburbs and are parents to two adult daughters.
