What is A Donor-Advised Fund?

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a philanthropic giving tool that allows you to grant funds to charities while providing an immediate tax-benefit to you. It’s like a charitable investment account for the sole purpose of supporting causes you care about.

How Do I Give Through A Donor-Advised Fund?

You can recommend a gift by contacting your financial institution or foundation. The grant will arrive at Meals on Wheels Chicago with only the fund’s name and address on it, unless you request otherwise.*

Alternatively, you can call your fund manager and recommend supporting Meals on Wheels Chicago, along with the amount of the grant. Your fund manager will send a check directly to Meals on Wheels Chicago from your fund.*

*Please request for your name and address to be included. We recommend that you contact Meals on Wheels Chicago to inform us of your gift so we can promptly thank you for your support.
