Due to scheduling conflicts, we are postponing the volunteer event that was planned for Tuesday, December 1st at the Thompson Chicago.

In 2016 Meals on Wheels Chicago will launch an Emergency Meals Program, benefiting homebound seniors and individuals with disabilities. The program will provide shelf-stable food deliveries to our clients. Shelf-stable food is an ideal solution when home delivered meals cannot be distributed, such as during bad weather. These meals do not require refrigeration and can be consumed at room temperature. Shelf-stable food offers peace of mind to clients and will be delivered prior to emergencies or bad weather.

We’ll launch the Emergency Meals Program with a rescheduled event at the Thompson Hotel early next year. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter to stay tuned for the official date and learn more about how you can help us serve Chicago’s homebound seniors and individuals with disabilities.
