Reflecting on Our Work

As we flip our calendars over to 2022, we’re all hoping for better days for everyone.

It’s a time of reflection too, and this past year has been both challenging and inspiring. We saw once again how much good can be done when people come together to help others, and we are grateful for the power of community that made a difference in the lives of so many.

It is your heroic decision to act and show your support for Meals on Wheels Chicago that has made a huge impact on the lives of so many, as you can see below.

The hunger crisis in our community continues to be very real and seniors and people with disabilities have always been particularly susceptible, even before the pandemic began. Many in our city—particularly those on the South and Southwest sides—were already experiencing high rates of poverty and food insecurity. Covid-19 brought us more clients than we’ve ever had in our 35-year history, and we continue to maintain service to them – without a waitlist – because of you.

Thank you for making a difference this past year. We hope you will continue to help us fight hunger and isolation among seniors and individuals with disabilities in 2022. Because together, as a community, we are powerful.

With Gratitude,
