Programs
Meals on Wheels Chicago (MOWC) is committed to the belief that all individuals have the right to live independently and with dignity in their own homes. Our goal is to support programs that offer individuals a choice in their care and living arrangement, despite age, income, or ability level. Since 1987, MOWC has proudly supported programs offering homebound seniors and individuals with disabilities the tools necessary to achieve this level of independence. These programs include:
Home Delivered Meals for Individuals with Disabilities:
Provides in-home meal delivery to clients (under the age of 60) with disabilities who experience difficulty with food preparation.
Holiday Meals Program
Provides in-home meal delivery to older persons (60 years and older) who are homebound, on six federal holidays.
HomeMod Program
Offers qualified individuals to receive alterations to their home environments, making them more accessible and allowing for a higher level of independence.
Emergency Meals Program
Provides clients with emergency meal boxes that contain shelf stable items that could be consumed in the event of a weather-related delay or disruption to the client’s normal delivery schedule.
