Paella Competition for a Cause

Four of Chicago’s top chefs will go head-to-head in a paella competition to benefit Meals on Wheels Chicago. The event will be held at The Ivy Room, located at 12 East Ohio St., from 2:00pm to 5:00pm.

Guests will have the opportunity to sample each chef’s paella and vote for their favorite. The winning chef will receive the “Best Paella” recognition and bragging rights.

In addition to the paella competition, guests will also enjoy Spanish-inspired passed appetizers, Spanish wines, and a churro station.

The Chicago Fire FC faces off against the Houston Dynamo at 7:30pm. Meals on Wheels Chicago has been selected the Charity of the Night. Visit us on the South Courtyard and look for us on the jumbotron during the game. Email cmorris@mealsonwheelschicago.org to secure tickets for the game.

Chicagos famed Spanish restaurant, Mercat a la Planxa is turning 16 years old. To celebrate they have invited former chef, Cory Morris to create a custom tasting menu for the evening. 16% of all proceeds from the night will go directly to help fund our misson.

Celebrate the Meals on Wheels Chicago program where dozens of top chefs and mixologists will come together to create a special evening of fine dining. The Ball begins with a cocktail reception followed by a truly unique and extravagant experience where every table is a chef's table! A team of chefs will prepare a six-course meal right in front of your table, personally presenting their creations. Opportunities to win stellar experiences while supporting our cause are available during the live auction and paddle raise.

Proceeds benefit Chicago's homebound seniors and people with disabilities struggling with food insecurity. This event is black tie optional. As this is a unique culinary experience, we cannot accommodate special requests or dietary restrictions.
